"I worked for many years with potter Ann Stokes, we would spend hours working together on her new collections of functional objects at her house. She gave me a wonderful gift, passing on her knowledge and love of ceramics. When I was asked to make something for the home, supporting the ALW fundraiser I thought it was the perfect opportunity to create a new series of bowls and reignite this love of making functional objects that people can eat from and enjoy." - Lucy Joyce
Lucy Joyce, born in London, completed her MA in Sculpture at the Royal College of Art in 2013. Recent exhibitions include The London Open at the Whitechapel Gallery 2015, Bloomberg New Contemporaries, Liverpool World Museum, ICA London and Newlyn Art Gallery 2014-15, Project Visible, Tate Modern, London 2014. In 2015 Lucy completed her first major public commission, An Out of the Ordinary Places Commission as part of the Ideas Test programme. Supported by Arts Council England.
